Company Overview

With a 12-member governing board, Randolph Hospital is an independent, not-for-profit community hospital licensed for 145 beds and also provides over 100,000 outpatient visits each year, 40,000 emergency department visits, cancer services, maternity care, home health care and an array of community wellness and outreach services. Randolph Hospital is the only hospital in the county serving a population of over 140,000. With annual net revenue of approximately $100 million, Randolph Hospital has over 200 medical staff members with a range of different specialties and over 1,200 employees. Our medical staff has most surgical specialists with the exceptions of CVT, Neuro, and Plastics. Our ED is not a trauma center and is staffed with residency-trained EM physicians who work exclusively at RH. The hospital has a successful Hospitalist program, available for medical consults on surgical patients. RH has 5 OR’s in which 4867 surgeries were performed last year. The organization also has subsidiary corporations, Randolph Medical Associates and the Randolph Specialty Group with physician practices throughout the service region, a Regional Cancer Center and an Ambulatory Surgery Center through joint ventures and a Community Health Foundation.


Asheboro is located in the center of North Carolina in the rolling hills of the NC Piedmont, and near the Uwharrie National Forest. The Blue Ridge Mountains are two hours west, and Beaches are each just three hours to the east. Our area offers excellent opportunities for running, hiking, fishing, golf, local gyms, children’s activities, theatre, shopping and many family and social activities. Greensboro, North Carolina’s third largest city is just 25 minutes away. Charlotte, the largest city is only 1.25 hour south. Managed care is minimal. Piedmont International Airport in Greensboro offers service on most carriers to most destinations.

Public Schools are good at all levels, and there are three major medical schools, Duke, UNC, and Wake Forest, all within 1 a hour drive. Asheboro is the home of the North Carolina State Zoo, noted as one of the top zoos in the United States.
