Xtend Healthcare provides customized coding solutions based on our clients' unique needs. We have expertise in professional and technical coding services for inpatient, outpatient, and specialty coding as well as in hospital, physician, clinic, and surgery center environments. We can build a customized solution to supplement your coding resources, or provide complete or partial outsourcing of coding functions.
The Challenge: The increasing shortage of well-trained medical coders has caused coding backlogs that are difficult to manage in a compliant and cost-efficient manner, and hospitals lose additional time waiting for temporary staff to get up-to-speed. Delayed coding and stopgap measures can be extremely expensive and do not provide a permanent solution.
The Xtend Solution: Our HIM Consulting and Coding Services offer higher levels of performance at a lower cost than in-house temporary staff while ensuring accurate and timely coding of medical records that decrease denials and increase cash. We use only certified and experienced coders based in the U.S. who are audited weekly for both accuracy and productivity.
We go the extra mile: Most coding services limit their roles to simply coding records, but we provide value-added services like billing edit (diagnosis and HCPCS code) review and reconciliation for immediate claims submission, DNFB reconciliation, documentation compliance reporting, and educational feedback to providers. We will tailor our services to meet your unique needs.
We can deploy our coders via Virtual Private Network (VPN) access to hospital systems so our team can work directly within your hospital's chart, coding and abstracting environments. If your hospital has a hybrid record, including paper, we can use our coding workflow solution to have the records scanned, routed to our coders and returned as uploadable code and abstract files.
Consulting: We can provide a comprehensive, accurate review of the coding, billing, and reimbursement practices for your HIM areas. We will also identify areas of risk and provide support and training to implement corrective actions for revenue cycle optimization.
