Baptist Healthcare System, Inc.
Company Overview
Kentucky's Baptist Healthcare System owns five acute-care hospitals with more than 1,500 licensed beds in Louisville, Lexington, Paducah, Corbin and La Grange, and manages a 300-bed acute-care hospital in Elizabethtown. In addition, physician practices are also part of the Baptist Healthcare System.
As a not-for-profit health care provider, we've made a commitment to the communities we serve to provide care and services that go far beyond what is expected of a hospital, including charity care, education, community involvement and partnerships and a wide variety of special programs and services.
Company History
Baptist Healthcare System began as a single hospital in 1924 with the opening of the 120-bed Kentucky Baptist Hospital in Louisville. The system was formed following the opening in 1953 of the 117-bed Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah and the 1954 opening of the 173-bed Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. Today Baptist Healthcare System is the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Kentucky
