Harrison Medical Center

Company Overview

Harrison is the premiere medical center of the region, serving the Kitsap and Olympic peninsulas. We’re located in picturesque Kitsap County, just an hour’s drive—or leisurely ferry ride—from Seattle. No traffic jams here.

We’re a 297-bed acute-care medical center with more than 2,200 employees and 450 physicians who make a difference in our patients’ and their families’ lives through exceptional medical care. Our core values—empathy, innovation and accountability—aren't just words: They're concepts that guide us.

Our community boasts mountains, seashore, and a wealth
of recreational opportunities, plus affordable housing and excellent schools, including a community college.

Company History

Founded in 1918, Harrison has evolved from a small local hospital into one of the region's busiest medical centers. Our not-for-profit institution now cares for patients from Kitsap, Mason and Jefferson counties at campuses in Bremerton, Silverdale and Port Orchard.

Harrison boasts an impressive range of specialties, services, and programs. Our staff consists of more than 2,100 employees. Nearly 450 credential providers, including more than 350 physicians, dentists and podiatrists, are affiliated with us. Approximately 80 percent of these doctors are board-certified, a figure which ranks well above the national average. In 2006, our two ERs received 64,000 visits.

Harrison Bremerton, located at 2520 Cherry Avenue, serves as the medical center's acute-care center. Among the services are cardiology; open-heart surgery; oncology; critical care; 24/7 emergency care; general ambulatory; orthopedic and pediatric surgery; and rehabilitation services.

Mother/baby care, outpatient surgery; rehabilitation services, and 24/7 emergency care are the cornerstones for Harrison Silverdale, which opened at the corner of Myhre Road and Ridgetop Boulevard in 2000. Advanced imaging services—including an open MRI—combined with a large array of physicians' offices complement patient care at this award-winning facility. Approximately 2,000 babies are born annually here.

Harrison Port Orchard opened in 1995 as a way to serve people living in the southern portion of Kitsap County. The major function of this facility is primary care, while appointment or walk-in services are provided daily from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm. Additional services include X-ray, a laboratory and EKG testing, as well as rehabilitation care and Harrison Home Health.
