Company History

For nearly 30 years, the staff of CHAMPS Oncology Data Services (ODS) has been working towards a higher quality of cancer registry data and a more educated and skilled cancer registry profession in Ohio.

Prior to 2001, CHAMPS ODS was named the Northern Ohio Cancer Resource Center (NOCRC), a service of The Center for Health Affairs, Northeast Ohio's Hospital Trade Associate. NOCRC was known primarily as a population based cancer registry for Cuyahoga County, providing outcome data to the community and member hospitals.

In 2000, the CHAMPS Management Services Board of Trustees took action to transition this program from a population-based regional cancer registry to serve healthcare beyond Northeast Ohio hospitals. And today, ODS' expertise is widely known throughout hospitals, pathology labs, cancer research institutes, cancer registrars, educational facilities, and beyond.
