Company History
IFMC was founded in 1972 by Dr. John Sunderbruch, a Davenport physician who practiced medicine for more than 65 years.
With only three employees on staff, Dr. Sunderbruch founded IFMC on what he called “the concept of a more active peer review organization with a strong quality component and cost containment characteristic.” He developed IFMC after an 18-stop, one-year tour across the state to gain physician acceptance of the formal peer review concept.
Today, IFMC has nearly 800 employees in four states, with more than $100 million in annual revenues. Our company features diverse business units that ultimately provide services to millions of people nationwide.
