KForce represents the convergence of two legacy companies, as well as the addition of a number of complementary businesses. Founded as Romac & Associates in 1966, the Company merged in 1998 with Source Services Corporation, an industry leader founded in 1962.
In 1999, the Firm changed its name to Kforce, an abbreviation of The KnowledgeForce®. Taken together, these two terms describe our heritage as well as our future. “Knowledge” reflects the dual concepts of the knowledge worker, an individual who brings a wealth of professional, personal and technical skills, and the knowledge-based employing organization; while “force” symbolizes the strength of the knowledgeable team that achieves the organization’s business objectives.

The most recent addition is Bradson Corporation, which along with Pinkerton’s Government Solutions Division, merged to become Kforce Government Solutions.
