LifeWays Community Mental Health
Company Overview
LifeWays Community Mental Health, often referred to as LifeWays CMH, provides behavioral health support, information, and services to residents of Jackson and Hillsdale counties. As the CMH, we are responsible for ensuring that all residents of Jackson and Hillsdale counties who have Medicaid or Healthy Michigan and a severe mental health condition or intellectual/developmental disability receive the services and support that they need. Once a level of need for an individual has been determined by one of our qualified Access Clinicians, we will connect that individual with one or more medically necessary services within the vast array of internal and community resources. LifeWays provides many programs and services in-house including an Access department, Intensive Crisis Stabilization team, Physician Services Unit, Peer Support services, Case Management, Prevention and Wellness programs, Mental Health First Aid training, and Central Michigan 2-1-1. LifeWays also provides services through a Provider Network comprised of more than 40 local mental health providers and several other providers scattered throughout Michigan. Funding for the services provided through LifeWays and our Provider Network come mostly from federal and state government programs in addition to some local government funding and fundraising.
LifeWays strives to help all Jackson and Hillsdale community members better understand, identify, and cope with mental illness. Even if we can’t directly provide services for a community member, we will help link them to other programs or resources that may help them.
