Established in 1873, Mercy Hospital in Iowa City is the community's first hospital and the second oldest in the state of Iowa.
Mercy Hospital provides state of the art medical care with 216 acute inpatient beds, 12 skilled nursing beds, and an adjoining medical office building. In addition to providing care for the local community, Mercy is a regional referral center for a 10 county area of southeast Iowa. Approximately half of Mercy's patients come from these neighboring counties.
