West Virginia Unviersity Medical Corporation, d/b/a University Health Associates practices at West Virginia University Hospital, a level-I Trauma Regional Referral Center, located in Morgantown WV. Company History

In 1971, the WVU Medical Corporation was chartered as a private, non-profit corporate entity for the purpose of supporting the West Virginia University School of Medicine. This corporation is now doing business as University Health Associates, and has evolved into the largest multi-specialty physician group practices in West Virginia.
UHA initially managed the patient billing function for the clinical faculty physicians at WVU. Prior to UHA, physicians individually collected payment for their services. Today, UHA functions in the administrative roles of billing & collections, human resources, accounting, operations management and clinical support for the WVU Schools of Medicine and Dentistry.
UHA currently employs over 1,000 staff supporting the physicians at our Physician Office Center, WVU Eye Institute, Health Sciences Center, Chestnut Ridge Hospital and Scott Avenue Operations located in Morgantown. UHA satellite locations provide rural clinic support in Dawes, Elkins, Harpers Ferry, Martinsburg, Upper Tract, Weston, and Wheeling, WV.

Benefits

Pay Periods
Bi-weekly Pay—every other Friday for a total of 26 pay periods per year.

Paid Leave
Paid Time Off—Minimum of 18 days per year, accrued per pay. Eligible immediately.

Holidays—9 per year including: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (2) and Christmas (2). Eligible immediately.

Short-Term Disability—Minimum of 12 days per year, accumulated per pay. (Restricted access based on Medical necessity). Eligible immediately.

Bereavement—Up to 3 days per occurrence for immediate family members. (Spouse, Parent, Child, Brother, Sister, Parent-In-Law, Grandparent or Grandchildren). Eligible immediately.

Health Insurance
Point of Service Plan with Prescription Drug coverage. Eligible first day of month following employment. Rates are dependent upon coverage selected. Current coverage types include: Employee, Employee + Child, Employee + Spouse and Family. Deductibles, co-pays and employee’s portion of fees are subject to provider utilized for services.

Employee Paid Benefits
Dental Insurance—Voluntary Dental Insurance Program. Eligible first day of month following employment. Rates are dependent upon coverage selected. Current coverage types include: Employee and Family.

Dental/Vision/Health Flexible Spending Plan—Flexible spending account with reimbursement of eligible Dental, Vision and Health Care expenses. These accounts are funded with pretax dollars through salary deductions. Eligible first day of month following employment.


Dependent Care Flexible Spending Plan —Flexible spending account with reimbursement of eligible dependent care expenses. This account is funded with pretax dollars through salary deductions. Eligible first day of month following employment.

Supplemental Life Insurance—Optional Term Life Insurance up to 5 times annual salary. Coverage is also available for spouse and dependent children. Eligible first day of month following 30 days of employment.

Supplemental Retirement Plan—403(b) plan allowing the employee to contribute up to IRS allowable limits. Eligible immediately.

Company Paid Benefits
Corporate Pension Plan—401(a) plan with minimum 10% Employer Contribution based on annual salary. (15.7% contribution for annual salary over Social Security Wage Limit) Subject to 3-year vesting period. Eligible first day of month following employment.

Long-Term Disability—Benefit provides 60% of Salary after 180 days of disability. Eligible on first day of employment provided the employee is actively at work.

Life Insurance—Term Life Insurance benefit at 2 times annual salary. Eligible first day of month following employment.
